Korean pimps in Irvine (Los Angeles) area arrested and facing serious charges

Some ignorant people still think these high class escort services run from fine apartments and hotels are just consenting adult companionship events, and penalties are less severe as long as children are not involved. These pimps running a Korean escort service in the Irvine/Los Angeles region found out the hard way that is long debunked.

Their arrests come just one week after another pimp, Gao Yang Zhou (35), received his sentence for running Chinese escort services in the Irvine area that was competing with the three Korean pimps (see link in the article above). Gao Yang Zhou pleaded guilty Monday to 12 felony counts, including three felony counts each of pimping, pandering, money laundering, and one felony count each of conspiracy to commit pimping, conspiracy to commit pandering, conspiracy to commit money laundering, with a sentencing enhancement for money laundering over $50,000.

Gao Yang Zhou faced a maximum of 11 years and 8 months in prison. After pleading guilty, the court sentenced him to 4 years in state prison on August 19, 2014.

Escort review website operator Ed Omuro sentenced

May 22, 2015 – Ed Omuro, 53, from the San Francisco area was the operator of the escort review website myredbook.com until it was shutdown by the FBI last year. It was advertised as an escort website supposedly catering to consenting adults meeting for companionship time. Everyone knows by now it is a prostitution and human sex trafficking, filled with crimes like theft and money laundering, children, drugs, sexual abuse, and criminal gangs.

Ed Omuro was sentenced to 13 months in federal prison plus 3 years of supervised release after prison. Despite the millions he made from prostitution and human trafficking, he lost it all. He agreed to forfeit $1.28 million in cash and property, and lost more money in legal costs, fines, and other penalties.
