Double digit year prison sentences, all the way up to life in prison, is now the standard and norm when you get caught, arrested, and sentenced in a large scale prostitution and human trafficking ring.
A Queens man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for operating a prostitution ring in New York and New Jersey, according to a report from the New York Post.
Isaias Flores-Mendez, 42, was accused of bringing young women from Mexico and forcing them to have sex with farm workers in rural New Jersey, or sending them to underground brothels in New York.
He pleaded guilty to sex trafficking, interstate transportation for prostitution and other charges, the report said.
Flores-Mendez also had to pay $1.7 million to the government and $84,000 in restitution to the victims, according to the newspaper.
All but four of the 16 defendants who have pleaded guilty in this case have been sentenced.
