Gregory Krajnyk of Ohio sentenced to 13 years prison for prostitution and human trafficking charges

January 27, 2014 – Gregory Krajnyk, 46, of Garfield Heights in Ohio, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for running an escort agency (i.e. prostitution and human trafficking ring) from 2008 through 2012.  The count is 13 felonies and 2 misdemeanors.

  • four counts of Human Trafficking
  • three counts of Promoting Prostitution
  • two counts of rape
  • two counts of Compelling Prostitution
  • one count of Endangering Children
  • one count of Having Weapons Under Disability
  • two misdemeanor assault counts

The felonies to which Krajnyk admitted guilt involved 12 different victims, including 11 young women.  Investigation by the Garfield Heights Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation established that Krajnyk used drugs, alcohol and physical intimidation to manipulate the vulnerable women under his control.

This is the same escort/prostitution/human sex trafficking/drug abuse ring that former Cuyahoga County assistant prosecutor William Kaczmarek was an avid client and supporter.  In June 2013, William Kaczmarek got fired from his job after his involvement with Krajnyk’s criminal ring was discovered.

While 13 years in prison may seem a little light, and in other areas of America he would get over 20 years in prison easily, Ohio is continuing to crack down on pimps and human traffickers, and penalties only get tougher as time passes.  Several years ago, Krajnyk would likely get less than 10 years in prison, and prosecution would take far longer.  Now double digit years in prison is the standard for losers like Krajnyk.
