California’s Proposition 35 against human traffickers which passed in November 2012 continues to punish the most heinous pimps out there. Ray Rhodes, 33, was pimping an underage 13 year old girl in the Long Beach area.
On June 27, 2013, he was convicted on two counts of lewd act with a child, one count of procuring a child for a lewd act, one count of pandering a minor under 16 years of age, and one count of pimping a minor under 16 years of age. Rhodes will not be eligible for parole until he is 73.
Before proposition 35 passed, Rhodes would only face a maximum of 8 years in prison, and most likely serve less than 5 years in prison.
